Meet Our Doctors
Dr. John L. Brinkley
Dr. John Brinkley is from Columbia, SC. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of South Carolina and graduated Cum Laude from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN in 1980. He has spent much of his professional life working with children and developing programs to teach children eye exercises to improve their vision. He was the Founder of the Vision Therapy Institute. Dr. Brinkley enjoys seeing patients of all ages and eye conditions and tries to take a more leisurely approach now after 41 years of practice. He is an active member of the American Optometric Association. Dr. Brinkley enjoys outdoor activities, gardening, mountain biking, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Dr. Eric R. Brinkley
Dr. Eric Brinkley grew up in Irmo and is proud to be a native of the Palmetto State. He completed his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of South Carolina and gradated Magna Cum Laude from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. His passion is treating ocular diseases including glaucoma, macular degeneration, and ocular emergencies. Dr. Brinkley is an active member of the American Optometric Association and serves as the President of the Midlands Optometric Society. Aside from practicing optometry, Dr. Brinkley enjoys weekend golf, Carolina football, and is a loving husband and father to his wife (Hannah) and son (Walker).
